Combi Car Seats

In December 1957, Sanshin Limited was born. In March 1968, the company name was changed to Combi. Combi is just one of the manufacturers of car seats for children. Combi car seats are made to be lightweight and compact. They are also designed in many models to suit the age of your child. Combi car seats are available in 5 different types: the standard Shuttle infant car seat, the Coccoro convertible car seat, the Zeus Turn 2-in-1 car seat, the Kobuk booster car seat, and the Dakota backless booster car seat.

The one I got was Defective!! I called customer service, and it was the worst service I've ever had. I had to send lots of photos to prove it is defective and I had to pay shipping fee. How come Combi USA can sell defective product and still make customer pay to replace? The car seat is cheaply made out of plastic. It's hard to take out from the base, and the shade doesn't stay up. I believed Japanese product is safe and good, but sadly, it was not. I am not going to purchase anything from Combi.

I purchased this combi carseat to fit my combi double stroller because i had an evenflo which is too big for the dou ble stroller. when this combi car seat arrived, i was surprised on how big it is too, i was thinking of a smaller one since the strollers are very compact. This car seat would have been nice if not for the latching on the base. I find it very difficult for me to unlatch it from the base, EVEN when i used the wd40 already. I sometimes have to think twice if i want to take my kids places because of this car seat. I find myself taking the baby out and just reclining the stroller so she would feel more comfortable. I have a 2mos old girl and she is very long and big, i also think she is very uncomfortable in this car seat. I am seriously planning on returning it.

We like this Combi carseat because it seems well made, sturdy, and baby fits in this seat comfortably. We used a graco with our first child and it was heavier and bulkier. We also like the look of the Combi since it has a simplistic yet trendy appeal to it. The fabric is of good quality unlike some of the other carseats I have seen. The only problems that I am having is getting this seat out of the base! My husband has no problem, but it is difficult for me. I had no problem with the Graco. I guess I will have to try the WD40 trick as other reviewers have mentioned. The other problem is that our 5 week baby fits snuggly into this seat now, but will he be able to fit into this in a few months or so? Other than this, it is very attractive, safe, sturdy, and well, it's not a graco...

Okay, so I'll start with the positives: 1. Aesthetically attractive design 2. Comfortable for baby 3. Works well with stroller system Negatives: 1. Extremely difficult bottom buckle: The bottom buckle is made of 2 plastic latches that fit together like puzzle pieces before insertion. The problem is that it's difficult to hold together while buckling. Major design flaw. Would not have purchased if known beforehand. 2. Give in straps is uneven. Over 3 months the left strap has become significantly looser than the other. May be easy to fix, but annoying to deal with. 3. Hood could have more coverage. It would be nice if the hood stretched out a little more.

I love my combi stroller and needed the carseat to fit into it. I was skeptical with the many mixed reviews here, but I'm glad we stuck with our combi carseat! The first few weeks I struggled getting it out of the base and almost returned it, but I'm glad I stuck with it because my baby is only 6 weeks, but as he gains weight, it gets easier to release.

Coccoro

The Coccoro Combi car seat is a more compact convertible car seat that is specifically designed to fit smaller vehicles that have smaller seating. This Combi car seat has belt lock offs that ensure the seat is tightly secured to the vehicle's seat. The lock offs that are available allow you to use this seat in the rear facing position for smaller children, and the forward facing position for larger children, with separate lock offs for each position.

Reviews

I am so happy with this carseat. It is actually smaller than the Graco Snugride that we were using before. It is really light-weight and easy to transfer cars. We have a 2 door Honda Civic that every other car seat was just too wide or too deep to fit in rear-facing. With this one we can actually both have our seats all the way back and not touching her carseat. Plus it has four harness heights which is great since we have a long torso baby.

After much research, we decided on this because of the size of my compact car - very compact VW beetle convertible :) Realize Britax #1 for safety but I think sometimes parents get carried away with things - I imagine that ANY legit brand ie Combi (and I mean high profile brands that don't have issues) - is going to be safe. Kinda like using tap water on formula, etc. - if there's no glaring prob with it, you gotta trust it's gonna be fine. So not only is this seat very compact and cute, it's also very comfy which I think a lot of carseats are not even though they look padded. The comfort is in the size of this seat - along with the infant insert, your baby is going to fit into it very snuggly. Our son was born 7lbs 5 oz and now at 6 mo is close to 19lbs. The straps adjust for height so he's still very happy in it. Giving it 4 not 5 stars because I do get annoyed with strapping: I like the strap holders but it's easy for the buckle to get tangled up frequently and the way the straps work, you have to really line them perfectly before they will click - sometimes it takes time esp. during winter, when the kid is bundled in layers of clothing and they might be screaming :) - but that's great safety isn't it. We have a recaro carseat in our other car which gets superior ratings but honestly, I think you have a compact car, this is just as great. I do agree that the install was not the easiest but it's solid once you do it right. Not sure I understand the low ratings on this seat..

They are advertising this car seat for small, fuel-efficient cars. It is perfect for our prius and corolla. It is excellent quality. I even like it better than my Britax. You cannot go wrong with this even if you have a regular car- BUY IT and you will not be disappointed. The design is smart and considerate.

I returned this car seat shortly after we purchased it. It was difficult to align the seat belt buckles together before latching in and I crushed my baby's finger! The seat belt holders was not convient or easy to use. It was about the same size as the maxi cosi we ended up puchasing. The brown wasn't as deep as I was expecting either.

I was looking for a car seat that I could use for our newborn boy, but still have room in our Mercury Tracer. My husband is 6' 2" and needs to be able to push the seat back. Placing the seat in the middle allows both of us to have our seats in a comfortable position. Also, my husband and I absolutely love the cherry pie. We are not much for pastels, so this one was a great choice. I am very pleased with the amount of cushion both the infant pad and seat have. Unfortunately, our son is due in March so I will have to give an update on how well he likes it when he arrives.

Zeus Turn

One of the most famous features for the Zeus Turn from the Combi car seat line is the turning capability for which it is named. This Combi car seat can turn a full 360 degrees. The purpose for this is so that you can change which direction your child faces as he/she grows, without having to move and reposition the base. It also has four height adjustments and two reclining positions.

PROs: love that it turns so you can place your baby in it or take them out without having to be leaning in awkwardly inside the car like the standard car seats. very comfortable; can change easily from front to rear facing; i paid 238 which was 50 dlls cheaper then anyone else(@ babyage . com through amazon.com) CONs: big... forget it if you have a compact car, it'll take to much room if its rear facing. we have midsize and you have to move the seat up just a bit.. not to bad for a tall person like me(depends on car i guess too); once baby is big enough forward facing doesnt eat up to much space; expensive at 238 but i thinks it worth it for your lower back; its heavy; and its not a portable carrier nor can one place one on it.

Fits in our SUV. The passenger needs to move the seat up some, but can still fit somewhat comfortably. Many complained about it not rotating easily, but it very easily rotates if you read the instructions instead of just trying to figure it out. Started used it with our 3 month old. Only complaint is that it didn't hold his head up well when he was that young and didn't have good head control yet. Now I would have waited a little longer till he had better head control. Rotating to put him in it would seat him almost upright and without head control he'd fall forward, but once he was rotated to the rear facing position he was better. All in all very happy with the car seat, just wish its weight limit was higher.

I have a 2 yr 3 mo old and love this seat. it has been great, especially thru my second pregnancy. it is so easy to get my son in and out and he seems extremely comfortable in it. While it is bulky, it fits perfectly in my GL450 and it really feels like it is sturdy and safe due to its size and weight. However, I am planning on buying the Zeus 360 for my now 5 month old as Combi seems to have done some great upgrades since coming out with this first turning model. If you can afford the difference, I would definitely go with the 360 as it allows for the child to stay rear facing longer which is highly recommended as well as the fact that you don't need to "re-install" the seat once you switch to forward facing, unlike this model.

I think this car seat is absolutely AWESOME!!! I went from driving a Ford Expedition to a Honda Element, and with a 20lb+ 7 month old, getting him in and out of a rear facing seat was a challenge with either vehicle. Then I found this seat!!! The Honda has the suicide doors, which makes getting the kids in and out really easy, it's a very roomy car for it's size, but getting a baby up and over a RF car seat sucked!!! With this seat I just load in the chunky monkey and turn him around--and the thought of not having to take it out and turn the seat around in a few months when he goes forward facing just makes me giddy. It is a large seat, and it's heavy, but you only have to install it one time so I think it's a even trade out. I want to tell everyone I know that is having a baby they need this seat--it's nothing less than FABULOUS!

It's a wonderful product and was a great buy. I found it cheapest from a trusted source here on Amazon.com. I found it for $225 here shipping ,etc. including. I found it for $219 on a no name site that did not include shipping so 100% this was the best deal. I'm a bargain shopper and refused to pay over $300 for this product even though it's worth it.
